From the customer grid in the Portable MBA in marketing by Charles d Schewe and Alexander Hiam, customer retention and customer attraction affect sales in organization as follows: if the customer retention is low and customer attraction is also low the sales will fall and lead to business total failure. when customer attraction is high and customer retention is low there will be partial failure because the repeating customer will be leaving causing partial fall in sales. this is the same when there is high customer retention and low customer attraction. the business will experience slowing of sales due to lack of new customers. The sales and profit of an organization will reach its maximum rate possible only when there is high customer retention and attraction.
